Art 6 Photography

How and why did you take this photo?

I was walking around outside my apartment, when I saw some plants by the pool. Only one of the plants had a flower and I thought I could use it for an atypical photo. I went around the kiddie pool to the thin strip of land by the pool wall, bent down and took the photo.

                                                              Reflection Questions

Did one of your photographs show more than one of the 5 categories outlined in this assignment?  If so which one and how?

I think that this photo shows atypical and texture because I took the photo from underneath the trees, but the photo also shows the texture of the leaves.
If you could do this assignment again what would you do differently?

If I could do the assignment again I would make the photo above clearer.

Which photo was your best?  Explain Why.

I think that this photo is the best because it is really clear and it shows the leaf below the bars, and reflects the bars really well too.

Open Letter

To who ever planned out the TRi-Time schedule.           I understand that it would be hard to re-arrange 3 grades worth of schedules, but I think you could've paid a little more attention to a few details. Especially lunch.           My friends and I struggle to find a table, and have often found ourselves sitting outside on an awkward little bench. It's hard to start a conversation due to the fact we're all just sitting in a line, not facing each other. The other reason it's hard to talk, is because it's so loud. Even outside. Do you know why? Maybe because not only eighth grade is in there, but also seventh grade, sixth grade, and I think it's third grade and fourth grade. On top of that, there's also the annual Tabitha sale. How did you manage to put us all in together? I try to get out of there as soon as I can, but then the library is full too. Where are we supposed to go? I'm pretty sure the teachers don't want us all rampagin...

Prismacolour and Rapidograph Anatomical Drawings

Image
Something I struggled with quite a bit in this unit was time management. Though I tried not to, I always got too caught up in the pencil sketch beforehand. I know we were not meant to spend too much time on this, however I need the contour lines to be relatively accurate before I make it too permanent. As someone who struggles with getting the correct shape quickly, it was difficult to not spend too long on the sketch. Due to this, I never fully completed any drawing.  Something else that threw me off with the prismacolours was trying to create a smoother transition of colour. The colour swatches seemed to work well together, however when I went to apply them to the drawing, it ended up looking clunky.  While I loved working with both the prismacolours and the rapidographs, I feel that both require a lot of technique and time. I would love to work with this for more extended periods of time, where I don't feel stressed and rushed to finish the drawings.

laptop boot camp

Did you know that blogs started in 1994? I will be telling you about laptops. This includes things from digital citizenship, laptop care, how to use a laptop, blogging, and organization. When I think about laptop boot camp I think about leaving digital footprints, being a good digital citizen, and not being a cyber-bully. I think about what makes a good blog and what a blog even is. I know that a blog is a weblog, and that people use them as online diaries. When caring for your laptop, there are very small things that make a very big difference, like making sure your laptop carry case is completely zipped up so your laptop does not fall out and break. Using your laptop means sitting up straight and bending your arms, and not having food or liquid near your computer. Organization. Organization is very important because without it, we might not know where very important things are. That goes for laptops to. Make sure you are not all over the place, and if you are closing tabs, ...
