Book club meeting May 9

My goal for this book club meeting was to piggyback more on others ideas, instead of just starting new ideas. I tried to piggyback, but every time I was about to, someone else started a new idea, so I couldn't. My thoughts about my book club would be that we all have very good ideas, but the meeting mostly goes back and forth between Ella, Riel, and Claire. So, most times I couldn't speak until I was asked my thoughts, and by then it was a different subject than the one I wanted to talk about. I learned to really jump at any space that I can to talk in, or else I won't be able to talk.

Open Letter

To who ever planned out the TRi-Time schedule.           I understand that it would be hard to re-arrange 3 grades worth of schedules, but I think you could've paid a little more attention to a few details. Especially lunch.           My friends and I struggle to find a table, and have often found ourselves sitting outside on an awkward little bench. It's hard to start a conversation due to the fact we're all just sitting in a line, not facing each other. The other reason it's hard to talk, is because it's so loud. Even outside. Do you know why? Maybe because not only eighth grade is in there, but also seventh grade, sixth grade, and I think it's third grade and fourth grade. On top of that, there's also the annual Tabitha sale. Prismacolour and Rapidograph Anatomical Drawings

Something I struggled with quite a bit in this unit was time management. Though I tried not to, I always got too caught up in the pencil sketch beforehand. I know we were not meant to spend too much time on this, however I need the contour lines to be relatively accurate before I make it too permanent. As someone who struggles with getting the correct shape quickly, it was difficult to not spend too long on the sketch. Due to this, I never fully completed any drawing.  Something else that threw me off with the prismacolours was trying to create a smoother transition of colour. The colour swatches seemed to work well together, however when I went to apply them to the drawing, it ended up looking clunky.  While I loved working with both the prismacolours and the rapidographs, I feel that both require a lot of technique and time. I would love to work with this for more extended periods of time, where I don't feel stressed and rushed to finish the drawings.

laptop boot camp

Did you know that blogs started in 1994? I will be telling you about laptops. This includes things from digital citizenship, laptop care, how to use a laptop, blogging, and organization. When I think about laptop boot camp I think about leaving digital footprints, being a good digital citizen, and not being a cyber-bully. I think about what makes a good blog and what a blog even is. I know that a blog is a weblog, and that people use them as online diaries. When caring for your laptop, there are very small things that make a very big difference, like making sure your laptop carry case is completely zipped up so your laptop does not fall out and break. Using your laptop means sitting up straight and bending your arms, and not having food or liquid near your computer. Organization.
