Top Ten Places I've Travelled To: Scotland

Looking for a place to travel to next? Ever thought about going to Scotland? There's so much to do there, and so many places to go to. There are cities and countrysides, malls and markets. If you love animals, there's plenty around! I've been to many different countries and states, but Scotland is by far one of my favourites.
Maybe you love exploring big, busy cities, and you're thinking that Scotland is full of rolling green hills, and almost no civilisation to be heard of. Sure, there will be a lot of older architecture, but that doesn't mean it can't be considered a "modern city". Glasgow, the largest, most populated city in Scotland, also has a little more of a modern touch to it. The inside of most of the older buildings has been remade, and there are some new buildings and structures around as well. The second most populated city would be Edinburgh, my personal favourite city. There are so many different restaurants and cafés. There's the University of Edinburgh, which is really nice. There are other attractions there too, such as the Portrait Gallery, and the National Museum of Scotland.
If you're more into the country and older architect, there are so many tiny towns you can explore. Just hit the back roads, and drive along those iconic green, rolling hills. Just make sure you don't run over any sheep. There aren't always fences around.
One last thing I would recommend doing would be to go to a market. I went to three different markets in Edinburgh, and I loved all of them. You can get a sense of Scottish culture, and enjoy roaming around while getting tasty treats or handmade souvenirs.
All in all, I highly recommend going to Scotland, and I'm sure that there will be something that you can enjoy, whether you like cities, the countryside, or just looking at the scenery.

  1. Jamie,
You make Scotland sound slightly magical and futuristic, great job with painted a picture in the readers head! I can truly see what you highly enjoyed doing in Scotland. To take a different perspective on Scotland, what did you not like about it? If you were to travel again, what would you do different, and how would you recommend readers to be prepared for certain activities you had trouble with?
