As a group project we are trying to create a uniform look to all our pieces
but I asked for something that makes your winter house unique.
What did you create that gave your house ‘character’ and made it
different from everyone else.
~

I added the vines to make it slightly different from others' work. While I saw
another nearby with similar flowers, the difference was that theirs had no
vine underneath.

Final Reflection:  Describe in detail the skills and knowledge that you
acquired this semester that helped you create this piece.
Mention anything related to technique, clay consistency, recovery, glazing,
surface manipulation etc. I want to know what you have learned!
~

For this piece, I found that clay consistency was important. When
constructing the structure of the house, the clay had to be leather hard.
If it was too soft, the front was likely to cave in. If it was too hard, parts like
the sides and roof would crack when being curved. It was important to
recover the clay only when needed and only as much as needed, and to
cover the piece well when class was over. This ensured that the clay would
not dry out too much. It was also important for the clay to be curved
slowly, so that the clay doesn't crack.
I Love you all!  Thanks for an amazing semester!
